Mason is here!

This week has been an experience I will cherish forever.

Mason arriving has been as thrilling as when my girls came. He has my heart. Its his. He is so perfect. I know I'm the Grandma and that's what I'm supposed to say, but he is dang it!

He only cried for maybe 1 minute, then they were cleaning him up and he was just a content sweet little man. They pricked his foot for blood and he didn't even move. I couldn't take my eyes off him.

After staying in the hospital for her 39 labor then that night for rest the kids were happy to get home. I've done my best to help Kris get a head start and organizing things and doing housework for her so she can rest as much as possible. He feet were so swollen! They just now started looking so much better. Her blood pressure was a HUGE issue the entire labor. It was up the whole time so they were constantly watching her and Mason to make sure they were ok. That's why it was so hard to speed her labor up she wasn't allowed to get up and walk because her blood pressure was so high. So I Googled and read that massaging the inner ankle pressure point is said to help get contractions going. I think I did that for a straight hour. I don't know if it helped the contractions or not but she liked having her feet rubbed and I was happy to do that for her.

Then during her labor we had a Tornado Warning. The nurse walked in the room and said we have a "Code Grey" None of us knew what the hell that meant and at the same time she walked in saying that she just happen to be bringing in the card with the items they needing during the birth. Then she told us we had to all go in the hallway until the warning was over. There were Mommies everywhere! Some in their beds because they had their epidural in some in chairs like Kris and so we just sat there and waiting. What a memory.

This is the radar shot Jimmy's Mom sent him while we were sitting in the hallway wondering what was going on outside. She named it Tornado Mason. We'll never forget it.

But he made it her safe and sound and we are thrilled. We were all running on little to no sleep. Which made for some funny moments after Mason was here.

I hear Mason crying now. I know I should sleep because I have to drive tomorrow but its hard I don't want to leave him

More when I'm back in Arkansas
